New CC Feature

Article and photos by Josh Hawks - The beautiful thing about custom motorcycles is that as divisive as building bikes can be, it can also bring people together. This is the case with Chris Edwards, a friend of mine. Had it not been for custom motorcycles, I probably wouldn’t have met him. What’s shocking is that we’ve known each other since elementary school, but I would have never known the guy if not for meeting him a few years back at a local ice cream joint. Read more.

On Location: Fuel Cleveland

Fuel Cleveland is a custom motorcycle show featuring bike builders, motorcycle artists, and a whole lot of custom vans. For 2022, the party was held south of Cleveland in Cuyahoga Valley National Park at Hale Farm. They couldn't have picked a better setting for the work on display. We spotted clean Panhead choppers, beefy Evo choppers, and some of the best custom Sportsters we've seen. Some super talented people also took the time to chat with us a bit about their work. Enjoy the show!

A huge thank you to Throttle Addiction for partnering with us on our coverage! Shop their top-quality selection of hardtails, gas tanks, sissy bars and more at https://www.throttleaddiction.com.

How to Bore and Hone Cylinders By Panhead Jim

Whether you are punching your 883 out to a 1200, or rebuilding a clapped-out Shovelhead, you are going to need your cylinders properly bored and honed. On the surface, the concept of boring and honing cylinders is pretty straightforward, but things get tricky when it comes to the actual execution. To do the job right, you need a variety of expensive machines, precision measuring devices and the knowledge and experience to correctly use them all. Even though it is unlikely that most of you reading this will ever bore and hone your own cylinders, it’s always important to know the proper procedure, so you can ask the right questions when you are looking for a reputable machine shop and be able to give your machinist the right information to do their job. For this article, I traveled down to Bill’s Cycle Salvage in Jacksonville, NC, and let their lead mechanic Dave take me through the entire process.

New ChopCult Feature

The What We Ride features focus on our contributors and the motorcycles they choose to kick their leg over. We’re fortunate to work with Alec Ozawa, and he has become a vital part of the ChopCult team. Alex is a Chicago-based custom motorcycle enthusiast who enjoys photography as one of his artistic outlets. Having no mechanical background, his can do attitude helped him to build this 1998 Harley XL1200C, 95th Anniversary Custom chopper he calls Porosity Princess. Enjoy!

What's Happening Hot Stuff?

Hello, it has been awhile since I have posted, and I hope all is well with you. Our lives are going at full steam as Born-Free is heading our way. Duane is an invited builder once again and has set the bar with the latest CB750. There's been a lot of late nights over the past six months and a few setbacks. D has handled every challenge with ease and has managed to stay focused. I, on the other hand, am a ball of nerves. I hope the mailman brings him an early birthday gift tomorrow ( his birthday is on Wednesday) and delivers the engine parts so D can move forward. Be sure to give my bff a follow on Instagram to watch his bike come together.

ChopCult.com continues to grow which I'm forever grateful. Grateful that you enjoy which we feature on the website and social media, and thankful to those who continue to use Chopcult.com to sell their wares and use the forums daily.

Take a moment to check out some of the features showcased on ChopCult.com. and we'll see you at Born-Free!
Talk soon.

What's Happening Hot Stuff!

It's been a while since I posted here. Life is busy handling all things ChopCult, and I headed back east for a bit. It was refreshing to step away from all things digital and get some quality time with my family. Here are the latest features that I published during my absence here. I would like to thank Ryan, Steve, and Josh for helping me gather the content. Enjoy!
