Time to vote for Cycle Source Magazine Best Of Issue

Time to vote for Cycle Source Magazine Best Of Issue

For the past five years my name has been on this list , which is a huge freakin' honor. Like Susan Lucci once said, doesn't matter if you win at least your still being spoken about. This industry has taught me a lot and I am forever grateful to those who have supported me along the way. I think it's cooler that Chop Cult is in the running for Best Web Related News Source as it has been my main focus since February of this year. The features are well received, the new memberships are on a steady increase and the social media has blown up. Our Facebook has just rolled 111,000 which means I personally have welcomed 101,000 new followers to the page since I have taken over. The blog has 43,000 page views and Instagram has acquired 12,000+ followers, both identities null and void before Feb. 1st. I'm all about numbers and love watching them grow.

Do me a favor, cast your vote here  http://tinyurl.com/csbestof and thanks for your ongoing support!

Big thanks to Chris for putting this together, http://www.cyclesource.com/

New Editor For Chop Cult

Bill and McGoo created Chop Cult, the largest, most comprehensive social network for motorcycle enthusiasts. I used the site on a regular basis to promote my clients and many events. Two weeks ago, the guys let Duane and I know they were in talks with someone about purchasing the site. We were thrilled for them as we have watched them bust their asses for the past three years. Here's my full circle moment...they stated " We gave them your name for the editor's position ". Well folks, if you are a follower of Chop Cult you already know, the site has been sold and I have a new job :-)  I will be responsible for the weekly features and the social media beginning February 1. The moderators have agreed to stay on and handle the tech talk.
I'll still be freelancing with the national magazines, as well promoting my clients and the Hippy Killer Hoedown and Just Kickers. For me , all are resume builders and I appreciate each and every opportunity.

I have started a Chop Cult  Instagram and have asked Debbie Fitch to contribute when she can. Most of the photos will be from my personal files. I am also gathering content so if you would like your bike or business covered let me know.
Take a minute, check out the site and give us a follow:

Cool weather riding gear from Biltwell Inc.

(Borrowed photo from Biltwell's facebook page)

With the colder weather upon us, I thought I would share riding apparel. .First up is our good friends Bill, McGoo and Mike, known in the industry as Biltwell Inc. They all enjoy wrenching and riding, which comes across in their product line. Biltwell caters to the garage builder by creating top quality motorcycle parts that you can afford. The same goes for their apparel line, you can achieve warmth and comfort without looking like the Michelin Man. I have included some of my favorite products from their website.

It's a slim fit, nice thin material with features like the thumb cuff to keep the sleeves from sliding back while riding.

I won't lie, these are my favorite riding gloves. Thin but warm, velcro, black on black, thin palms and the snug fit make me happy.
"You can search haberdasheries and mega malls from Buffalo to Bass Lake and you won’t find more features, higher-quality construction, a better fit or more enduring style than our Prime Cut vest. Available in two styles and six sizes to fit practically every bikerider imaginable, every Biltwell Prime Cut is American made and packed with outlaw spirit, guaranteed." ( most people charge for the outlaw spirit, not Biltwell, branding at it's best!)
Another gem from their website "We know some pinheaded chopper freaks that wear a Biltwell beanie inside their open-face helmet to take up space between their balding melon and the inside of their lid. When you’re not riding the wild thunder, a beanie is a great way to tame your greasy wig in a stiff wind. If your coif is more middle manager than dirty hippy, a beanie will protect your side part nicely in harsh climes. I guess what we’re trying to say is this: no matter how you choose to look or where you choose to use it, everyone needs a beanie.
The Bubble Shield gives you the added protection from mother nature. If you prefer the wind on your face, try out their new Moto Goggles with changeable scratch-resistant anti-fog lens
Check out Biltwell's world and become a fan

Get well soon Wes

weswhitebenefit

A good friend of ours was hit on his bike, no insurance = a huge medical bill. Please head down to Garage Company on June 23rd and support Street Chopper and Wes. If you can’t make it Biltwell, Born Loser, Loser Machine, and Lowbrow Customs are all donating a percentage of their sales to the cause. Kickstart Cycle Supply  has a sweet shirt for sale, which all of the proceeds will benefit Wes. I ordered one and hope you can help out as well. All of the companies above are solid and their product is top notch.

Cycle Source getting some love

DSC07906crop

Through our social media, we get to meet some very cool people. I had the pleasure of making contact with GySgt Andrew Toothman, who is a avid reader of Cycle Source and is stationed in Afghanistan. I knew I had to do something so I gathered up some apparel and included some magazines for the crew. I was very happy this morning receiving a email from him:

Lisa:

I am overwhelmed by the generosity of you guys at Cycle Source.  We got the package today and everybody was stoked!  We’ll get you some pictures of us posing in front of a Harrier Jet or part of the ship.  This has been a bitter sweet day.  We just got word this morning that one of our brothers back in NC was killed riding to work last Friday.  It just makes me want to ride even more.  We need to get more people riding and take over the roads.  Thanks again for everything you guys are doing at Cycle Source.  I respect the movement and hopefully more people will bring their business back to The States.  - Drew

Sorry for your loss, come home safe and thanks for everything you do!

If you would like to send a care package or letter to Drew, please send it to:

BREAKING NEWS – Cycle Source and The Limpnickie Lot join SRS

Cycle Source Magazine at the Sturgis RoadShow

The Limpnickie Lot will be joining the Sturgis RoadShow! Don’t know what the Limpnickie Lot is? Check out their website and read a little bit about what they’ve got going on:

The Limpnickie Lot is a collaboration of custom bike builders and American Parts manufacturers from the next generation of the American V-Twin industry. Comprised of small shops and individuals it is their mission to ban together to promote their unique blend of culture and style derived from many younger influences including Motocross, skateboarding, heavy music, BMX, and other aspects of the next generation. By making appearances at several national and regional rallies throughout the year the group intends to bring as much attention to both this movement and their products as is possible. Also at the top of their goals is to take the whole motorcycle culture a step back to a more basic time. With a large amount of respect for the history that it has, they hope that by focusing on the riding and adventure, self expression and freedoms that have always been inseparable from the culture that they may influence the direction of where it goes next.

This is all with the help of Cycle Source Magazine – which you should subscribe to today.

About Cycle Source: Starting in March of 1997, the Cycle Source began as a free publication that served an area of about a 100 mile radius of Pittsburgh, PA. Over the next four or five years it would grow into a publication that filled a solid area in PA, WV, and Ohio. Still a free publication, the Cycle Source continued to hone its content and gather contributors as it served the Tri-State area. In March of 2005, the Cycle Source celebrated its 8th anniversary by announcing it… READ MORE

The Big One for Blotto Parts!

Blottoheader

It is great for me to watch my friends grow with-in the motorcycle industry. I was asked by Mike D a.k.a. OTTO VON BLOTTO to create a blog so he could sell his vintage parts. On Dec 31, his blog turns one, has had over 88,000 true looks and is followed world wide.

Mike has also created a name for himself by helping me with articles for Cycle Source. He is now helping the Biltwell crew with their blog as well as having a presence on the Chop Cult forum. You can also check him out in Dice Magazine.

Pretty funny, when we first met, he just wanted to be a regular guy. Well this regular guy showed me that I can own it and pimping ain’t easy. Thanks for the kick in the ass!

For your vintage parts, casting ideas, words of wisdom, chick bashing and anything else you could possibly need, check him out

WOW!

I never thought in my wildest dreams that we would be able to go to Japan. With the kind help from Shige and the Mooneyes staff, our dreams became reality .

A lot of people know that Duane doesn’t like flying, it is not a fear issue more of a claustrophobic issue. So we hooked him up on some great meds  but I am proud to say that Duane only used one and it just gave him a headache.

I have to thank the staff of Ana Airlines. For some reason, they knew of Duane’s issue ( I think they had him on high alert) and they assigned him his own personal stewardess. What other airline would do this? She would inform Duane of the upcoming turbulence and catered us through out the whole flight.

The great outcome for this is now we are able to head to NH together and we will be able to make the V-Twin Expo. I am so proud of him.

I will be honest that I was quite overwhelmed with the whole experience. I have always been proud of Duane and his career . I never thought it his crazy bikes would gain the notoriety that they have.

We brought the Spectro Oil posters with Kutty and Duane on them and for numerous hours, people waited to meet Duane, had him sign the poster and had their picture taken with him. This was a whole new experience for us and we would like to thank everyone for stopping by and support us.

The pictures will be up soon as I have to pull some for the Cycle Source feature.

I would like you to support the following people if you can

You know when you a great circle of friends

scr2_flierI will not be able to make and cover the Slab City Riot  for Cycle Source due to schedule conflicts. But I have come to realize that I have a great circle of friends that have my back. Julie Graff is the lovely lady pictured below, we met in Sturgis, became Facebook buddies and hung out last weekend at the Long Beach Swap Meet. She is what I would call a “ Biker’s dream from heaven!” Her level of knowledge with motorcycle parts is jaw-dropping, I just know they are pretty to look at. Julie will be covering the event for a upcoming Cycle Source Issue. Julie’s blog captures her life on the road and the people she meets. I am stoked that our paths have crossed and am blessed to know this fine chariot!

I knew I need some great shots and was hoping that Bill and McGoo weren’t using Cindy for their number one motorcycle website/forum, Chop Cult. They helped me out and I now have the famous blogger, Cindy Delong, capturing some of the chaos and debauchery that I know will be displayed though out the night.

Cindy’s blog is  Fashion Serial Killer, which is known for her take on fashion, the biker life style and anything random that makes her laugh. ( have to be honest here, some of it gives me the creeps, you know the kind, see a accident up ahead, should I look kinda of creeps………) She was a part of the first Slab City Riot and have been friends with McGoo for awhile now. I love to listen to them together, they are my  2010 version of Abbott and Costello, they are a quick witted and funny as hell team. We finally got to meet at the Ventura Nationals this year, where I got to personally thank her for giving Duane’s work props on her blog.

She also brought some fashion in my life by reminding me that there is still old vintage camera straps out there waiting for a girl like me to love.

Thanks for the help and remember, I got your back too!

What a incredible day at the Santa Monica Pier. It was great to spend quality time with people that I truly love!

Everyone has a bucket list and on mine it would be that I could find the power within me to do something this challenging.

“Go big or go home” has a new meaning to me as these people lived big and deserve to go home!
