I had MANY conversations today about personal accountability through social media.  When did it become acceptable to be rude through social media? Where did common decency go? It's time for the bullies, haters and close-minded folks to disappear. I'm tired of seeing people spew hate, especially on Instagram,  just for the "look at me" factor. I, along with many others,  use social media for promotion and to support those who support my family and friends. The time is NOW for us to take a stand, are you with me? Witness hate = delete and block. #itsnotallaboutthelikes

What's happening hot stuff

This is a test, this is only a test........... I know I have been absent here as of late, for which I apologize. I'm surprised, also thrilled to see that I still daily visitors. For this, I thank you for being loyal and interested in my life ( as boring as i may be at times). My main reason for my absence here is that I'm extremely busy keeping ChopCult moving forward, helping Duane when I can, and am securing sponsors for the David Mann Chopper Fest. I'm currently so busy pimping everyone else out, I'm honestly too tired to take care of D's and my social media. But no more excuses, it might not be a daily post but I will guarantee a few a week.

I recently went home to New Hampshire for my parent's 50th Anniversary, yes I really typed 50. I had a great time!!! While I was there, I had a conversation with my brother Manny or Manuel, if he was in trouble. I remember hearing Manuel a lot as a child. :-) Manny is very intelligent, business smart, and well educated. He didn't really have to study and would bring home A's constantly. I, on the other hand, would study all night and fail miserably every time. Manny has grown into an awesome man, who has a beautiful family. He doesn't have a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account. He doesn't want it and prefers spending his time with his family and/ or chasing a little ball around 18 holes. Manny told me something last week I will never forget. He said," Lisa, I love going to your blog. I love your photos and your writing." That my friends was like getting a A+. Everything I "do" today is self taught through trial and error. Not bad for a girl that was told at a young age not to dream big, I should lower my expectations. Oh if she could see me now hahaha. I might not be rich and famous but I'm succeeding gracefully!

Being the Editor-in-chief of ChopCult has been one of the hardest but best job to date. It's defiantly kept me on my toes and every social media outlet is growing. I'm a number junkie, and the numbers look AWESOME. Even site memberships are up, boom! 

I have many duties this position one being attaining content for the site. I'm also responsible for the layout, a process I actually love doing now. It wasn't my favorite part of the job in the beginning but now everything falls into place now. Here's my latest feature on the site:  Inside Voodoo Vintage.

Another duty is securing advertisers for the site, and this is how came to meet David Roy. He's the owner and operator of Voodoo Vintage. We hit it off right away, even before I secured Voodoo Vintage for advertising.

Kirk Sharp had a vision and stuck with his original plan. Create a gathering that people will enjoy and want to come back to year after year. I started working with Kirk in 2011 and am proud to announce we are celebrating our third Just Kickers! It's kind of funny if you think about it, I'm here in California and he's in Texas but together we get it done. Who knew...............

Who knew that a little tiny app on our smartphones would kill Blogger and Facebook with a simple post of a photo. Just Kickers Motorcycle event

I have a few friends that like to support the motorcycle industry. They buy your parts, go to your rallies and ride their bikes till the weather delegates the time to store them away for the winter. They all felt there was a need for a grass roots event near the Texas/ Ok border. So they reached into their own pockets and tied down 70 beautiful acres of private property. Their goal is for you to ride out with your friends, enjoy the trip, and camp under the stars in Davis, Ok. The whole weekend will cost you 20.00 which includes a event t-shirt.  There are hot showers, a running river, bar on site, food and so much more.  The whole goal for this event is for you to unwind and decompress from the hustle and bustle of life.  I am honored to help put on this event.

Something happening here…

I have to tell you my latest jaw dropping experience with Cycle Source Magazine. I always look forward seeing that big brown truck dropping my ever growing supply of Cycle Source every month. Everyone knows that I get the first copy and head into the house to check it out. Looking at the cover, I start wondering what in the hell is this box on the cover? Well folks,that would be Chris’s newest step in our social media presence the QR Code.

The Big One for Blotto Parts!

It is great for me to watch my friends grow with-in the motorcycle industry. I was asked by Mike D a.k.a. OTTO VON BLOTTO to create a blog so he could sell his vintage parts. On Dec 31, his blog turns one, has had over 88,000 true looks and is followed world wide.

Mike has also created a name for himself by helping me with articles for Cycle Source. He is now helping the Biltwell crew with their blog as well as having a presence on the Chop Cult forum. You can also check him out in Dice Magazine.

Pretty funny, when we first met, he just wanted to be a regular guy. Well this regular guy showed me that I can own it and pimping ain’t easy.Thanks for the kick in the ass!

I have to send out a huge thank you to Zach at Chop Shop Cycles for hooking me up with some of his gear. Zach has been a great friend and he helped Duane dial in Funkenstien before the Smoke Out East many moons ago.

Cathy’s Help has a new home!

 

 

I have just created a new blog and facebook page for the Cathy’s Help Foundation . This will allow Jeremy to concentrate on Muttin Cycles and showcase the daily going-ons at the shop and his life. The Cathy’s Help blog will be strictly the event posting, donations and progress reports from Jeremy. This way both companies get the recognition they deserve. I donate all of my time to this great cause, Jeremy is a true gentleman and I am honored to help him.

 

Please become a follower of Cathy’s Help, it is a great foundation that caters to woman suffering with breast cancer. Their donations are low right but knowing Jeremy’s high expectations for Cathy’s Help, they will be climbing soon.
