I was lucky enough to play hooky from work yesterday to head to LA. Our friends Jamie, Erin and Laurie were visiting from Australia so I played tour guide for the day, which is the best job ever! I always start the day at the Griffith Observatory then head downtown to Hollywood Blvd and try to end the day watching the sun set on the Santa Monica Pier. Being with motor heads, we eliminated the pier and ending with a quick trip to Hollywood Hot Rods instead.
If the gods are on your side, you are lucky enough to see the ocean to your right and snow capped mountains to your left. 
Our view was slightly hazy but still heavenly.
