What's Happening Hot Stuff?

Hello, it has been awhile since I have posted, and I hope all is well with you. Our lives are going at full steam as Born-Free is heading our way. Duane is an invited builder once again and has set the bar with the latest CB750. There's been a lot of late nights over the past six months and a few setbacks. D has handled every challenge with ease and has managed to stay focused. I, on the other hand, am a ball of nerves. I hope the mailman brings him an early birthday gift tomorrow ( his birthday is on Wednesday) and delivers the engine parts so D can move forward. Be sure to give my bff a follow on Instagram to watch his bike come together.

ChopCult.com continues to grow which I'm forever grateful. Grateful that you enjoy which we feature on the website and social media, and thankful to those who continue to use Chopcult.com to sell their wares and use the forums daily.

Take a moment to check out some of the features showcased on ChopCult.com. and we'll see you at Born-Free!
Talk soon.

Thanks, George!

Big thanks to George Hart for covering Born-Free 9 for CC. I could have of done it again but giving my take year after years seems old and boring. It's always cool to see an event through someone else's lens. See his full coverage here.

You and Me

I would like to dedicate "You + Me" to my husband and my close friends that have helped me through this recent rough patch. I often wonder if artists really understand the impact of their lyrics. I thank God for Alicia / P!NK because today wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.

A Trip to Salvation Mountain

A plaque embedded in the mountain

There are many people in the world that intrigue me and Leonard Knight was one of them. He devoted his life building Salvation Mountain, which he created from adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of paint and spreading the good word. There are many versus from the Bible etched in the walls and the ever present motto" God Is Love". One would think he had a hidden agenda but that was far from the truth, he was just a missionary who believed.

Duane and Wayne first visited Salvation Mountain when they went to the Slab City Riot a few years ago. Wayne came home and stated " Mom, you have to go there, it will blow your mind". My son stands correct as I could of spent hours there. I would of love to meet Leonard but sadly he passed two weeks before we made the trek. I'm a firm believer and know Leonard is in Heaven, painting and happy once again. Rest In Peace and thank you for your devotion and creation.

I hope the bureaucrats stay away and leave the Mountain as it sits now. Let the people continue to find solace and continue to walk on the yellow brick road for peace. Thanks for enlightening me Mr. Knight.

Haven't forgotten about you

Life has been a rollercoaster for me over the past year. On February 1,  I will have a full year of employment with Chop Cult. It's been awesome, rewarding and scary at times but I wouldn't change a thing. I believe in learning as I grow and this freshman year has taught me that you can't please everyone ( but I'll continue to try).
Thanks for your ongoing support!

One good deed goes a long way

A few weeks ago I ask my friends and Chop Cult followers to help out Hugh Owens, who dealt with his shop being destroyed by a flood. We have never met face to face but have known each other for numerous years. I helped him get his products in CS when I worked there and we have talked through Facebook from time to time. He always seemed like a true gentleman, not really in it for the glory and fame, just trying to provide for his family. When I heard of the flood, I reached out to him to see if I could help in any way. He was humbled to say the least but I knew if we set up a Go Fund Me account, we could raise a few hundreds dollars to help him out along the way. Well folks, you donated and raised over five thousand dollars, which provided assistance to Hugh's and his employees families during this ordeal.WELL DONE!

I didn't do this small action for the light to be on me, I did it to help others. This industry is inundated with the "look at me vs. look at them." When you hear someone is down on their luck, not because of human error, because fate has dealt them a shitty hand, we should pull together and help.

Keep it simple and count your blessings along the way. Hugh is a perfect example of this as he shut down the Go Fund Me account as soon as he got back on his feet. He also paid it forward to a fellow rider that was down on his luck. This proves that one good deed can create a movement for helping others.

You can see the whole build here

To all that donated , thank you and know that your kind donation helped not one but many!
Have a great day!

I spoke to Kutty today and he's still super stoked on the turnout and support.. It's really hard experience the show because we are responsible for some many outlets of the event. Big thanks to all that supported, helped, promoted and sponsored the Hoedown .
